There's Nothing to Fear...

There's a lot of things that scare me, the little bunny foo foo song being one of them, and sometimes the dark. But it's the things that I don't know that scare me the most.
Some people quote the saying "what people don't know won't hurt them", but I think the lack of knowledge would be most detrimental. When we have the right information we can make the right decisions.

I saw V for Vendetta on Saturday, fantastic movie, and scared the living crap out of me. And, it wasn't just the Guy Fawkes mask or the creepy voice behind it, it was the fact that through its exploration of government and media relations it uncovered a 'truth' that is evident across the world.

I don't want to ruin the movie for you, so I won't go into detail. But, if you're the type of person who sits down to watch the 6 or 11 o'clock news, and soaks it up to discuss the horrors the next day around the water cooler then you need to see this movie. If you love CNN, see this movie... If you think that Democracy has the interests of its people close to its heart, SEE THIS MOVIE.

I hate the news, I never watch it, I read headlines from time to time, but for the most part I choose not to because I don't trust it. I refuse to be made to live in fear of a shooting at Jane and Finch, a pitbull bite in the park, or even a terrorist attack.

"People shouldn't fear their government, the government should fear its people," unfortunately if the people think that everythings honkeydorey then there's nothing to fear but fear itself.

Rancho Relaxo

Well not quite but close....

I just got back from the Dominican Republic and it was quite the trip. Now as much as I would have loved to pull a Marge Simpson and order a hot fudge sundae and a bottle of tequila for my bubble bath, pina coladas and the pool did just fine.

For those of you on my msn, you can check out pics from my vacay, the rest of you will have to just adore the one I have here....

That's me and friends Val and Andrew (Ski) aka... Beebee and Poopee, in front of the resort. This was taken before we left.

So the vacation in a nutshell.... Our resort was on a bay, not the sea, so the water was brown not blue that sucked, we discovered that without ski (who chose to sit in a chair and read instead of swim) guys came a flocking, go figure. The only prob was that one was a total jackass, flipped out on this 19 year old named paula we met, and then decided to hate on us when Val refused his request for a booty call. Wow! His friend Benny was nice though so we hung out with him for the rest of the time, which was just a day since we didn't make friends until tuesday before we left.

We saw this georgeous island of Saona of the coast of Dominican Republic, clear blue water, white sand, just like an island vacation should be. Food there good, Food where we stayed not so much.

I won 80 dollars in the casino, used it to buy souvenirs in the Airport gift shop and then left the bag on the plane. I hope they find it.

I got a dark roasted tan, first time ever im peeling. Mind you, this was the first time I just lounged in hot sun for hours on end without moving. Other vacations im sight seeing fully clothed and what not.

The sun sets in 5 minutes, just amazing, it just falls from the sky. I wonder what it would look like to a sailor on the sea?

Long story short, here are the top 5 things on our list of things to remember for next time....

#1: Extra strength conditioner
#2: Must have clear blue, white sand beaches
#3: Mucho Medication
#4: After Bite lotion because repellant is useless
#5: and my personal favourite.... Remember the stuff on the plane!
